Did you start at this position with Scalepoint or has your position changed over time?
I started out as Product Manager, then worked a few years as Head of Product Strategy and Partnership and have been in my current role for approx. 4 years.
What does your job entail?
I’m the Manager of our four Business Consultants and two Project Managers. Our department has a lot of interfaces so half of the time I am in meetings. The rest of the time I am sparring with my team and working on customer projects.
What does a typical day look like for you?
First, I grab some breakfast and a cup of coffee in the canteen. Then I go through new e-mails and prepare for today’s meetings. My first meeting often starts at 9:00 am, and mostly I’m in meetings until lunch, which I prioritize to enjoy with my team. If I don’t have meetings I will sit by my desk and reply to e-mails, create presentations in PowerPoint, design work processes or help my colleagues solving their tasks.
What is the best part of your job?
The versatility and the complexity and most importantly, the collaboration with my colleagues.
What makes you proud to work for Scalepoint?
I’m proud of the culture and the brain power we possess. I think we make great solutions that make a difference for many people, and we are having fun while we are doing it.
What is the biggest challenge?
Having enough time with the people in my team to help them become even better and to get closer to them personally.
– How do you handle it?
I have weekly meetings with them all and cherish the culture in our team where we salute diversity and let people be the person they are.
What challenges do you solve for customers/colleagues?
For our customers I help them optimize their business by using our skilled business consultants who have great knowledge about our software and the market. For my colleagues I help them find new ways of solving their challenges. It could be seeing things from a different angle or share some experiences from my eight years in the company.
– How?
I’m curious and challenge them. By listening and asking questions you often find the missing link and the key to the right solution.
When you are to present Scalepoint to people outside the industry, what do you say?
That we are creating solutions for the insurance industry that helps them optimize their business and improve their customer’s experience. That we are a bunch of geeks and are very informal when we are at the office.
What is the best thing about working with software for the insurance industry?
The industry is a few years behind with regards to technology so we can make a huge difference for them in no time.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a part time dad and a part time boyfriend. One week with my two daughters and one week with my girlfriend. I love to cook and drink great wines and craft beers. I love music and concerts and reading a good book (mostly non-fiction). Occasionally, I’m trekking in the forests around Copenhagen.
Which Scalepoint core value do you like the best (Simplicity, Personal, Ambitious or Drive) and why?
Personal – I think our customers like who we are and like working with people who are not like the rest. I get inspired and learn from working with people with personality.
